Code of Professional Practice and Ethics
As an IOT graduate and registrant of the Institute of Trichologists, I am bound to their Code of Professional Practice and Ethics. The code is reviewed annually to ensure it encompasses the highest possible standards for each registrant.
The purpose of this Code is to provide a high ethical and professional standard of conduct for registrants to follow to protect the public and to preserve and enhance the practice of Trichology.

Professional Standards Authority (PSA)
The institute of Trichologists (IOT) has been awarded the Quality Mark, and has been accredited by Professional Standards Authority (PSA). The Institute of Trichologists has a voluntary accredited register under the Accredited Registers programme to ensure that practitioners on their registers are well trained and meet their standards of practice.
As a Registrant of the Institute of Trichologists, I am accredited under the Accredited Registers programme, meaning I have been trained to meet the PSA’s Standards, and demonstrate commitment to good practice and professionalism.Â
What is the Accredited Registers programme?
Patients, service users and the public can now choose a Trichologist belonging to a register vetted and approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an independent statutory body, accountable to Parliament.
