Let us tell you more about our partnership with Little Princess Trust

For several years now, we have been working with theĀ Little Princess Trust to help support, prepare, and fit donated hair wigs for children and young adults who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or who have lost their hair due to alopecia.

Little Princess Trust are a charity who provide free donated hair wigs to children and young adults who are undergoing cancer treatment or who have lost their hair due to other reasons. The Little Princess Trust work with a network of trusted salons who fit the wigs on their behalf. In 2022, Verve was awarded the Gold Standard for wig fitting.

The process of receiving Little Princess from Verve

Step 1: Reaching Our To Our Team

If you have lost or are going to lose your hair due to treatment, you can reach out to the Little Princess Trust and enquire about one of their donated hair wigs.

Step 2: Referral

Once you have informed LPT of your hair colour and measurements, the referral team will send a selection of wigs to our salon for you to try.

Step 3: Your Appointment at Verve

We will then organise an appointment with you to come into salon to have your new donated hair wig fitted; we will cut in the wig and style it for you, so it is ready to wear.

How We Wig prepare for Little Princess Trust Appointments

Losing one’s hair can be an incredibly difficult and, equally, seeing yourself for the first time wearing alternative hair can be initially quite daunting. The main aspect is seeing your hairline or hair density that is slightly different from your own.

Therefore, for young children we plait the hair away from the face so the child can become accustomed to seeing themselves wearing the wig first and then we will adjust and cut in the wig as needed. This process might seem long and unnecessary, but we feel it helps children feel more at ease during the first moments of their wig fitting appointment.

For young adults, however, we appreciate not everybody likes to wear plaits. Sometimes this means blow drying the hair of the wig a certain way to replicate how their own hair falls, another way may mean adding a slight wave to style the hair away from the face to feel more comfortable wearing alternative hair.

It’s the small things that make the world of difference to the wearer when undergoing these changes.Ā
