About The Institute of Trichologists
The Institute of Trichologists (IOT), established in 1902, is the oldest and most prestigious provider of trichology education worldwide. Renowned for its commitment to excellence, the IOT has cultivated strong relationships with scientific and medical societies, fostering a close-knit community of professionals dedicated to advancing the field.
The IOT is the foremost professional association for trichology in the UK. It is the only organisation to offer certified Level 5 trichology education and to maintain a Professional Standards Authority-accredited register of Trichologists. With members and students spanning over 20 countries across Europe and beyond, the IOT is globally recognised for setting the highest standards in trichology training and practice.

Code of Professional Practive and Ethics
As an IOT graduate and registrant of the Institute of Trichologists, I am bound to their Code of Professional Practice and Ethics. The code is reviewed annually to ensure it encompasses the highest possible standards for each registrant.
The purpose of this Code is to provide a high ethical and professional standard of conduct for registrants to follow to protect the public and to preserve and enhance the practice of Trichology.
Accredited By Professional Standards Authority
As an associate member of the Institute of Trichologists’ (IOT), I am accredited by the Professional Standards Authority register. The IOT has been accredited under the Accredited Registers programme. Accredited Registers make sure that practitioners on their registers are well trained and meet their standards of practice.
